KINGS OF PONTUS. Pythodoris with Augustus (Circa 8 BC-22/3 AD). Drachm. Dated year 63 of an uncertain era.

Obv: Laureate head of Augustus right.
Rev: BAΣIΛΙΣΣA ΠΥΘOΔOΡIΣ ETOVΣ ΞΓ.
Capricorn right, with globus between forehooves and cornucopia over shoulder.

RPC I 3807; Dorotheum (November 2017), lot 1126 (which realized a hammer of €1,900).

Extremely rare, and likely one of the finest known.

Condition: Very fine, a few scratches on the obverse.

Weight: 3.61 g.
Diameter: 15 mm.
